Environmental Health Career Day @ Multnomah County
May 1 | 8:45 am - 11:30 am
Spend the day exploring career paths in environmental health! Environmental health is the study of how our environment impacts our health and well being in the places we live, work, play, and learn. This career day will cover many applied topics: air quality, food safety, and disease prevention. Students will: Learn about the role of Public Health agencies, and engage in activities that investigate environmental hazards, the impact of the environment on our health, and more! 🌿🌎
How to attend:
Step 1: Fill out the winter/spring 2025 student interest form ASAP. (Type your email address and cell number carefully so we can reach you!)
Step 2: Have your parent/guardian fill out the 2024-25 parent/guardian permission form ASAP. (Your application can’t be considered until this is done.) Students who do this early have much better luck at being accepted.
Step 3: PWA will contact you to let you know if you’re accepted or waitlisted, or if the career day is full.
Step 4: Show up and have an amazing time!
Who can attend:
High school students in the Portland metro area are encouraged and welcome to apply. When space is limited, priority is given to students from PWA partner districts (Parkrose, Reynolds, Gresham-Barlow, North Clackamas, Oregon Charter Academy, Portland Public Schools). Students from other districts are always welcome and accepted whenever space is available.
PWA Inclusion Statement: We welcome students from all racial backgrounds and ethnicities, citizenship statuses, socioeconomic backgrounds, gender identities and expressions, sexual orientations, religions and abilities.
