PORTLAND, OREGON – The ACE Mentor Program of Oregon last week awarded a record $121,000 in college scholarships to 18 Portland-area seniors interested in pursuing careers in architecture, construction management, engineering or the trades.

The local ACE program has awarded more than $1.17 million in college scholarships to more than 220 Oregon students since its inception in 2006. These young people are graduating from college and emerging as promising talent in their fields; many are becoming ACE mentors themselves.

"This year's scholarship recipients embody the very essence of the ACE mission – each one driven by a genuine desire to uplift our communities, care for our planet, and champion diversity within our industry,” said ACE Board Secretary Octavio Gutierrez of BRIC Architecture. “As a board, we couldn't be prouder of these remarkable students, and we eagerly await the opportunity to work alongside them.”

ACE inspires local students to go to college, helps them make informed career decisions, and uses business donations to provide college scholarships.
