As​ ​we​ ​start​ ​a​ ​new​ ​school​ ​year,​ ​we’re​ ​heartened​ ​to​ ​see​ ​so​ ​many​ ​Portland-area​ ​employers​ ​rallying​ ​around their​ ​future​ ​workforce.  

They’re​ ​volunteering​ ​to​ ​host​ ​Career​ ​Days.​ ​They’re​ ​pledging​ ​to​ ​join​ ​the​ ​next​ ​NW​ ​Youth​ ​Careers​ ​Expo.​ ​Their employees​ ​are​ ​offering​ ​to​ ​talk​ ​with​ ​high​ ​school​ ​students​ ​about​ ​their​ ​jobs​ ​and​ ​career​ ​paths.  

These​ ​employers​ ​share​ ​​our​ ​mission​​ ​to​ ​educate​ ​students​ ​about​ ​career​ ​opportunities​ ​as​ ​part​ ​of​ ​a​ ​strategy to​ ​help​ ​all​ ​students​ ​graduate,​ ​continue​ ​their​ ​education​ ​and​ ​find​ ​meaningful​ ​careers.​ ​​ ​Their​ ​support​ ​–​ ​and your​​ ​​support​​ ​–​ ​help​ ​make​ ​it​ ​possible​ ​for​ ​PWA​ ​to​ ​grow.  

● We​ ​are​ ​deepening​ ​our​ ​​year-round​ ​work​​ ​with​ ​Portland​ ​Public​ ​Schools​ ​and​ ​the​ ​Parkrose​ ​School District,​ ​and​ ​we​ ​have​ ​started​ ​a​ ​new​ ​partnership​ ​with​ ​the​ ​North​ ​Clackamas​ ​School​ ​District.  

● We​ ​are​ ​preparing​ ​for​ ​the​ ​14​th​​ ​annual​ ​​NW​ ​Youth​ ​Careers​ ​Expo​​ ​on​ ​Tuesday,​ ​March​ ​13,​ ​2018,​ ​where we​ ​intend​ ​to​ ​welcome​ ​a​ ​record​ ​number​ ​of​ ​employers​ ​and​ ​postsecondary​ ​partners.  

To​ ​keep​ ​the​ ​momentum​ ​going,​ ​we​ ​need​ ​your​ ​continued​ ​support.​ ​Please​ ​consider​ ​ways​ ​to​ ​​expand​ ​your involvement​​ ​with​ ​PWA​ ​this​ ​year​ ​through​ ​volunteering,​ ​individual​ ​giving,​ ​employer​ ​participation​ ​or sponsorships.​ ​Let​ ​us​ ​know​ ​how​ ​we​ ​can​ ​help,​ ​and​ ​thank​ ​you​ ​again​ ​for​ ​being​ ​part​ ​of​ ​this​ ​critical​ ​work.
