Hey students! Join us on July 12-15, 2022, to explore careers at some of Portland’s leading creative agencies, connect with inspiring professionals, develop new skills, and discover great jobs involving storytelling, business and design.
This is a PAID summer career mentorship opportunity to unleash your creativity, skills and ideas.
Who can apply: Students entering grades 10-12 in fall 2022 and attending any Portland-metro high school. (Priority given to PWA partner districts; all welcome as space permits.)
Deadline: Rolling. Apply by May 27, 2022, for priority consideration.

When: Tuesday, July 12, through Friday, July 15, 2022. Mornings.
Where: Creative agencies near TriMet and MAX Light Rail in downtown and inner eastside Portland. Employer locations include vibrant creative agencies such as Upswell Studios, FINE and Wieden+Kennedy, as well as the Oregon Historical Society, where you’ll see an interactive exhibit on sports in Oregon and meet the designers and storytellers who built it.
Stipend and food: Students who attend the full program will receive a $200 stipend. Complimentary food, such as snacks or a light meal, will be included.
Transportation: Students are responsible for their own transportation. All locations are on or near major TriMet routes and MAX light rail lines. Free TriMet Youth Passes available upon request.
More program details: More program details and full itineraries will be available in early June. During this four-day mentorship aimed at students entering grades 10-12, you will:
- Go behind the scenes at leading Portland creative agencies, from a small boutique studio to a top ad firm
- Practice your skills through hands-on experiences and simulations (all experience levels welcome)
- Connect with caring professionals and learn how people get paid for their ideas, skills and creativity
- Get tips and coaching for starting your career

How to apply: Apply here. Apply by Friday, May 27, 2022, for priority consideration. PWA staff will approve a first round of early applicants by May 31, 2022, then fill any remaining spots in early June. PWA can accept about 15-18 students total.
